The Goethe exam is slightly longer in terms of reading and listening; in Goethe A2 Exam, both reading and listening consist of four parts. In contrast, Telc A2 Test has three parts. In my opinion, this makes Telc a bit easier for those who don’t concentrate for long periods of time. Due to this horizontal and vertical similarity, we recommend the following: 1. You can use both formats to optimally prepare for the official A2 exam. If you have chosen a format—Goethe or Telc—and want to take the official A2 test, you should still use all the model tests to prepare for the exam. 2. If you are taking the A2 or just using the model tests for practice, prepare directly for the B1 exam. Optimal preparation must begin at Level A2, as the A2 exam is the bridge between A1 and B1. Jumping to B1 without taking the A2 is absolutely not successful. 3. Taking the telc or Goethe B1 Exam as your first official exam without prior exam experience takes a lot of time and effort, especially if your language skills are just average. 4. All of our model tests in www.deutschtests.com are also very suitable for improving your skills while familiarizing yourself with the requirements of each level. This is a great help alongside your current course. 5. Don’t forget that each format prepares you for a different direction at B1. Therefore, if you are familiar with both formats, the decision for B1 between Goethe and Telc will be much easier.
