Goethe Exam A1 – listening comprehension
Goethe Exam A1 – Listening Comprehension lasts approximately 20 minutes.
Regardless of whether it’s the Goethe Exam A1 or the Goethe C2 exam, the following rule of thumb applies to all exams: As a candidate, you must read and understand the task before listening to or reading the text. If you violate this rule, you risk failing the exam, because listening to the text and reading the tasks simultaneously requires intensive and in-depth practice, which isn’t practiced at all in the lower levels.
Part 1
You will hear six different dialogues from everyday life. Each dialogue is no longer than 30 seconds. You will hear these dialogues twice.
We recommend the following: Read the tasks and the possible answers, then listen and then check the boxes.
On your first attempt, only check the questions you think they are correct; leave any questions you are unsure about open. On the second attempt, you have to do two things: First, you have to answer unanswered questions, and second, you have to confirm your chosen answers, i.e., either correct them or confirm them.
Don’t forget to make sure you’ve checked everything.
In the official Goethe exam A1 test, the answer options in this section are accompanied by photos, which is a bit easier than on our web portal. So, if you use our web portal and check the questions correctly several times, this task will be much easier for you on the official A1 Goethe exam.
Part 2
This section involves four public announcements in the shopping center, at the train station, on the boarding platform, and at the airport. These are short, lasting 20-30 seconds. You only hear them once and must choose either the correct or incorrect answer.
If you’re not used to this section, you can easily lose it. We therefore recommend that you practice several times, following the motto “practice makes perfect,” because these texts rarely appear in the textbooks.
Part 3
In this section of Goethe Exam A1, you will hear messages on the answering machine. They are also short, approximately 15 seconds. You will hear each message twice. You must answer five multiple-choice questions.
In Parts 2 and 3 numbers, times – official and unofficial time references – days of the week, times of day, directions, etc. are particularly important.
We would also like to point out that the A1 Goethe exam and A1 Telc exam are identical in both reading and listening. The ÖSD exam differs from the two.
Don’t forget! Go to www.deutschtests.com and you will find several model tests for A1 Goethe exam and Telc and can prepare for free.
If you don’t have to take an official test, use our web portal to test yourself and improve.
