Goethe A2 Test – reading comprehension
Goethe A2 Test begins with Reading Comprehension and continues with the listening Comprehension. The reading module consists of four parts, which must be completed in 30 minutes. This is the same as on our web portal. To make it easier for you, we have provided a recommended completion time for each part. This is very important so that you learn how to manage your time during the exam, as the Goethe A2 Test prepares you for the B1 Goethe Test.Part 1
You have a text, mostly from the press, consisting of 350 words and five multiple-choice questions. These questions and the text are significantly longer than in Goethe Exam A1 and somewhat more complex. We recommend approximately 9 minutes for completion. For each text with five multiple-choice questions, we recommend that you first read through the five questions and highlight any unfamiliar words. Only then can you begin reading the text and answering the questions at the same time. You shouldn’t be confused by unfamiliar words, because the fact is that you won’t understand everything in any exam, and you have to be able to deal with that. Ask yourself whether this word is a keyword or a non-decisive word.Part 2
Using a poster or information board, the test taker must in this part of Goethe A2 Test answer five multiple-choice questions using information from the respective poster, information board, or advertisement. The difficulty of this part is that each question always has a neutral answer option, forcing the test taker to understand everything on the information board or poster. For example, different floor, different section, different day, etc.Part 3
This is an email with approximately 250 words of writing and five multiple-choice questions. This part is similar to Part 1, but it is relatively easier than Part 1. It is easier because this classic text test frequently appears in textbooks.Part 4
This part is the most difficult. In the official Goethe A2 Test, you have five ads, a website with five parts, or five Google search results from which you can find the appropriate answer for each person – five people in five different situations. Three factors make this part particularly difficult. First, there are similarities between the ads, so you have to look very carefully. Second, for each person in each situation, there are five different possibilities. Third, and most importantly, if there is no suitable ad for a person or situation, you must choose 0. In summary, the Reading module can be described as follows: Parts 1 and 3 of the Goethe A2 Test are classic texts with classic multiple-choice questions. In contrast, Parts 3 and 4 are unusual and require practice. It is striking that the Reading module has certain similarities to Reading B1 Goethe Exam. Parts 1, 3, and 4 are similar to some parts of B1 Goethe Test. They’ll also prepare you for the length and complexity of the B1 level. Taking the B1 Goethe Test level without first taking the A2 level will definitely get you into trouble. Take advantage of this opportunity, go online to www.deutschtests.com, and simply take several model tests. This will save you the cost of taking an official test worth at least €150.Here are links to free German model tests:
