Telc Exam B2 listening comprehension
Telc Exam B2 Listening comprehension lasts between 20 and 23 minutes. In these three parts, you only have to choose between True and False, but you will only hear each part once.Part 1
In this part of Telc exam B2, you will listen to a news program lasting approximately four minutes. The news program consists of six news items, through which you must answer five questions. This means that there is no question for any of the news items. This part is critical for several reasons: 1. If you have never listened to a news program, then this part will be difficult for you. 2. The news program covers a wide variety of topics. 3. You will not have a similar task in either Telc or Goethe, although Goethe exam B2 and Goethe test B1 do include individual news items in Part 1. This part requires in-depth preparation, which is something we can only offer you. On the one hand, several model tests are available on our web portal. On the other hand, we will soon be offering a news program that may help in this regard.Part 2
You will listen to an interview on a social topic lasting up to 5 minutes. You will answer 10 questions about the interview. This part builds on Telc exam B1 Part 2, but the interview is approximately 2 minutes longer. This part also has some similarities to Goethe exam B2 Part 2. The only difference is that in Goethe, you must answer 6 multiple-choice questions and listen to the interview twice.Technique
1. You must first read the questions and identify prominent vocabulary or keywords. 2. By skimming through the questions, you must identify or guess the topic of the interview. 3. Listening is about following the thread through the conversation and answering the questions along the way. 4. Since you will only hear the conversation once, you must not leave any questions unanswered. 5. If you lose the thread, try to find the next keyword or idea to get back into it. The moderator’s questions also help with this.Part 3
You will listen to five different texts: event and cultural tips, traffic reports, weather forecasts, telephone information, etc. This part lasts approximately five minutes. Regardless of its length and complexity, this part is based on Telc exam B1 Part 2. This part is quite similar to Goethe exam B2 Part 1. The difference is that the texts in Telc are somewhat shorter and the test taker must choose between true and false.Summary
1. Listening comprehension in the Telc exam B2 is short compared to the Goethe exam B2. While Goethe B2 lasts approximately 38 to 40 minutes, Telc B2 takes a maximum of 23 minutes. 2. Listening comprehension parts 2 and 3 are based on Telc exam B1. Those who have taken and prepared for Telc exam B1 have an advantage. 3. The fact that you can only listen to the three parts once makes the Telc exam B2 difficult, especially in the long Part 2. 4. The parts vary in difficulty. Part 2 is underrated. Here are links to free German model tests:
