Telc Test B1 – Sprachbaussteine

Telc Test B1 – Sprachbaussteineconsisted of two sections:

Part 1

In a correspondence consisting of a text of approximately 150 words, there are 10 gaps. Each gap has three multiple-choice answers. The 10 gaps are grammatical in nature.

Part 2

In a formal correspondence consisting of a text of approximately 150 words, there are 10 gaps that represent a response to a question. There are 15 possible answers to these gaps. The 10 gaps are lexical in nature. All possible answers are capitalized for a reason: to prevent the distinction between upper and lower case from being used to solve the gap.

Technique

1. To complete these two parts, you need to analyze the sentence with the gap and determine which sentence element is suitable for the gap. You need to ask yourself what explains the meaning of the sentence. Is it an article, a noun, or an adjective? These questions then need to be explored further, e.g., what kind of article is being considered? The definite or the indefinite article? And in which causal context does this article occur? Etc. 2. This approach allows you to quickly determine the appropriate answer in Part 1 and, in Part 2, minimize the multitude of options and guess the correct one. What topics are covered in Telc Test B1 Part 1?

These two parts in Telc Test B1 test your grammatical and lexical knowledge. However, it is important to note that these two parts only make up 10% of the total Telc Test B1. This means that you, as a test taker, receive one point for each gap, which is less than for other parts. In the remaining parts, each question is worth 3.75 points. We recommend only 15 minutes for completing each part and no longer. Sprachbausteine in the Telc format are only available at levels Telc Test B1 and Telc Test B2. There are no similar questions in the Goethe format. Therefore, there are no parallels between Goethe and Telc in this regard. If you are taking the Telc Test B1 or Telc Test B2, it makes sense to get used to the tasks and practice in ascending order.
